Even big kids will love this sandwich maker. What's not to like? Its classic chrome styling is terrific. It has a great heft when you pick it up. Its Bakelite handle stays cool and has a nifty lock to keep small fingers from accidentally opening the lid during baking. Best of all, the face of America's favorite mouse--Mickey--is emblazoned on both the inside and the outside of this dandy appliance. What fun to surprise your child with a toasted cheese sandwich with Mickey's face captured on top! Mickey sandwiches would also be perfect treats for children's birthday parties. The silicone nonstick surface is terrific and forgiving, as long as you remember to pre-oil it each time you use the appliance; we're partial to a nonstick spray. And you'll keep the surface working perfectly if you always use a plastic or wooden spatula. The sandwich maker comes with a spiffy booklet that provides clear directions and some tasty recipes, both for sandwiches and special desserts--we like the apricot delights for two.
